Following the success of the Artifex Forge's Retro Comic Book Tool Kit for Illustrator - http://crtv.mk/t0K0Z , it felt only fair to offer Photoshop users a similar opportunity. Therefore, I am proud to present the Vintage Comic Creator with its fantastically extensive selection of layer styles, patterns and overlays, designed specifically to help you easily and quickly create vintage comic book themed designs.

All of the textures in the previews were sampled from genuine vintage comic books, giving the designs that real-life feel. These effects are perfect for vintage fair posters, comic book convention materials, retro party flyers, cards, invites and loads more.

How it works -

To use, simply place text and images into one of the overlay PSDs and then apply the one click styles as desired.

So, what exactly is included?

The Styles:

Using real ink and halftone textures these are supplied in 30 varieties so you can apply the styles to text, bitmap and vector images with simply one click. The effects used in the styles can easily be independently scaled and edited after application.

The Overlays:

These are the distressed texture that you see in the previews. There are two different designs both measuring 2320 x 1544 pixels in size. Each PSD contains three layers of texture, which can be turned on and off as needed.

The Repeat Patterns:

You get all of the patterns that were used in the styles so you can use them separately for greater flexibility. PLEASE NOTE that due to size restrictions, these patterns are not included in the initial download. I have included a separate download link in the instruction manual; here are the sizes:

Colored Ink patterns - 3000 x 3000 px, Halftone Patterns - 3000 x 3000 px, Black Ink Pattern - 2000 x 2000 px.

I've included the first four preview images as PSDs for your reference. All are layered and easily editable.

Instructions:

A very thorough guide on how to load, apply and then edit the effects is supplied. Please read carefully all the way through as it provides all the information you might need on how to load and use these effects.
